Remember when joy leaped across
Sated skin after these weakened souls
Discovered the other? You steered the
Unanchored sails of a wrecked ship, on
Tempest-turned seas, you were the
Winded, worn love-house rising from a
Blissful verdant shore. Angered waves,
Pregnant with the power of a million million
Silent suns, tumbled our soul-ships,
Overturned our all-consuming Us. Or,
Damaged from a hundred false journeys,
The bandaged aged engine shook loose of
Its moorings, unequal to work, wind, water.
I know you, lost love. I touched you where
The Earth met its wetted wife. I was one
With all that is worthy of the sailing. You
Are gone from me, my tattered sails a
Wrecked reminder of all the gods saw fit to
Offer another. Or I left to sail free…
